Bars where you can smoke pot

In the bars below pot smoking is allowed but they are not coffeeshops. You can have a beer next to your smoke, but you can not buy your smokes there.

Schuim Spuistraat 189, +31 20 638 93 57. The cafe is close to Dam square and a great place to spend some time. At night it becomes a lively café. Special attraction: the waitresses dance on the bar each night, and when the national soccer team is playing they have the game on a large screen.

't Genootschap der Geneugten Kerkstraat 54, 020- 6250934. Features some nice beer choices. This place is in the Kerkstraat, close to the corner with Leidsestraat and a couple blocks away from Leidseplein.

De Buurvrouw St. Pieterpoortsteeg 29. This is a cool night bar, they got some nice music, sometimes its crowded though. Local bands, alternative rock and DJ`s. Also a coffeeshop Nescafé is located nearby.

Sassoon Marnixstraat 79. This cafe/restaurant has trippy art-covered walls and candles lit everywhere. It has a sort of surreal/ bohemian mood to it. They serve some nice dishes together with some nice music and live music.

Sound Garden Marnixstraat 164-166. Formerly a coffeeshop, now it is a bar where they focus on alternative and progressive music. You can play some darts or billiard there. In the summer you can enjoy the terrace. Across the street is a coffeeshop.

The Getaway Nieuwe Zijds Voorburgwal 250. The Getaway has a funky decor and a party loving atmosphere. It is a real lounge bar. The music is always progressive and the latest in everything, they even contributed in the Amsterdam Dance Event Week 2004.

Brouwerij t'IJ  Funenkade 7. This is a nice micro-brewery. They are housed in a originall windmill, there are almost half a dozen fresh brewed beers to choose from. In the summer the terrace is next to the canal and packed with people. Outside you are able to light up a joint.
